There are many styles of gate available, from the simple garden Palisade gate through the range of traditional field gates to the imposing Estate gate. Wooden gates are generally divided into groups according to their eventual location.
Most of our Gates can be found within these 3 main styles:
FIELD GATES
- The traditional British Field Gate has been used for centuries and together with timber fencing has almost become a picture frame for our beautiful countryside
- As well as providing access to farmland, Field Gates can be used in domestic gardens and paddocks and are available in a range of both contemporary and traditional styles here at Ransfords
- Each gate is hand crafted using carefully selected softwood and pressure impregnated with preservative to ensure a durable and quality product
GARDEN GATES
- A wooden garden gate is perfect to enhance that idyllic garden of which you have always dreamed
- For those wanting to enjoy a little more privacy or have pets (or children!) that they don’t want to escape we also produce a range of side entrance gates which can be fully clad
- Our side entrance wooden gates offer privacy and security for side entrances and driveways
- Our solid wooden gates are manufactured from pressure treated British softwood timber for a long life
ESTATE GATES
- The Estate or Driveway Gate is most commonly used for residential entrances. Estate Gates act as an important part of many homes and developments throughout the UK
- They can enhance a property and make a bold statement whilst also playing a role in keeping out unwanted guests
